What do you think of the new Novell support changes? I encourage you to leave your comments on this!
I like it, brings Novell's support in line with other companies such as Cisco
I do not like it
Novell is blooming crazy, this is going to push customers, IT people, and consultants away from Novell even further!
I do not care either way

Reflex Magnetics Announces Full Support for Novell eDirectory Customers
Reflex Disknet Pro v4.51 now compatible with Novell eDirectory directory services; Solution enhances security by managing removable media devices

Phoenix, Ariz. - August 9, 2005 - Reflex Magnetics, a leading provider of IT security solutions for organizations worldwide, today announced that its network security solution, Disknet Pro v4.51, now supports the Novell eDirectory directory services. As a result, Novell eDirectory users will be able to strengthen their network security by implementing Disknet Pro to manage employee use of removable media input/output devices. Disknet Pro also allows for the automatic and transparent encryption of removable media devices; which is essential for organizations to prevent data theft.

Removable media, such as external hard drives, flash drives, floppy drives, USB drives, digital cameras, memory sticks and Bluetooth devices can now be plugged into workstations and launch with only basic user rights and without the need to install third-party drivers. Disknet Pro provides eDirectory administrators with central control over removable media-I/O devices, and the ability to monitor user access through these devices.

"Many organizations have implemented security measures for email and Internet access, but very few have security policies in place to prevent potential security problems associated with plug-and-play removable media devices," said Tony Pepper, North American Sales and Marketing Director. "As people become increasingly more mobile, removable media devices are becoming the media of choice for file transfers and sharing. They offer quick and convenient access to virtually any computer that has a USB or FireWire port. Unfortunately, they also pose numerous security threats to an organization. We are pleased to offer Disknet Pro support for Novell eDirectory users and are confident that they will appreciate Disknet Pro's added security features."

In addition to offering support for eDirectory, Disknet Pro v4.51 offers the
    following:
    * Transparent encryption of removable media
    * The ability to access encrypted media on any third party system
    * The ability to digitally tag approved devices once content and virus checked
    * Extensive auditing
    * Blocks malicious e-mail content, illegal software installation, and .exe .com
    .vbs .mp3 files
    * Black list and White list Capability.

"While Internet monitoring software may prevent people from downloading programs or files to a workstation, plug-and-play devices often have large storage capabilities that allow users to store and transfer unauthorized data, unlicensed software, malicious code or viruses, games, screensavers and other inappropriate material directly from the device to the workstation," added Pepper. "In addition, because they are not monitored and are virtually undetectable by the network, removable media devices increase the potential for the theft of data, intellectual property and proprietary information. By implementing Disknet Pro, administrators can protect their organizations from a variety of security threats, from theft to copyright and licensing violations.
Disknet Pro gives organizations enhanced control and tighter security over what has traditionally been unmonitored access points into individual workstations and the network." More information on Disknet Pro can be found on the Novell website at http://www.novell.com/partnerguide/company/48212.html and http://www.novell.com/partnerguide/product/201452.html

Disknet Pro v4.51 ensures that employees use only authorized removable media/IO devices by marking each device with a unique digital signature. Disknet Pro also offers administrator-defined content filtering and can integrate with any installed third-party anti-virus program. Reflex Disknet Pro also supports Microsoft Active Directory Windows NT/2000/2003/XP. For more information on Disknet Pro, visit www.reflex-magnetics.com.
