How do you think the Attachmate deal will turn out for "Novell"
Well, the marketing can't be any WORSE
Better, the product/support commitment is there
Worse, MS will end up with what is left of Novell’s marketshare & still end up with the patents, leaving the customer as the loser

Linux/Open SourceWALTHAM, Mass., June 24, 2010 -- Novell today announced SUSE Studio has been granted the 2010 American Business Award for Best New Product or Service * Computer Hardware or Services. SUSE Studio is a free, Web-based solution that allows users to quickly build complete software appliances in just minutes. SUSE Studio allows for mass customization and provides a bridge to the cloud, enabling software vendors and end users to build unique yet fully supported configurations of the operating system that run in physical, virtual and cloud environments.

"Novell is honored to be selected as a winner by the American Business Awards," said Michael Applebaum, director of Linux and Appliances Marketing at Novell. "This recognition illustrates that our easy to use SUSE Studio solves real problems for today's software developers and helps them deliver compelling solutions based on an enterprise-class operating system."

The American Business Awards, also known as the Stevie Awards, were created to honor and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and business people worldwide. Beginning with The American Business Awards in 2002, The International Business Awards in 2003, the Stevie Awards for Women in Business in 2004, and the Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service in 2006, the awards* mission is to raise the profile of exemplary organizations and individuals among the press, the business community, and the general public. The awards were presented during ceremonies at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. The ceremonies were hosted by Cheryl Casone of Fox Business Network and broadcast nationwide on radio by the Business TalkRadio Network.

Since its July 2009 release, SUSE Studio has built more than 310,000 appliances and has more than 70,000 registered users worldwide. In the past year, SUSE Studio was named a 2009 Enterprise IT Product of the Year by eWeek and has been a finalist for the 2010 SIIA CODiE Awards.
