Symptoms
Novell Directory Services (NDS) is currently not supported on Windows 2008.
Status
XenApp for Windows 2008 does not support Novell because the Novell Client 2 for Windows Vista and Windows 2008 shipped after XenApp5 came out. Engineering effort was required to address the integration issues on the Windows 2008 platform because a number of things had changed (GINA replaced with Credential providers on Windows 2008, Novell now has a client for x64, new Novell SDK, and so on).
With the next release of XenApp (on Windows 2008 R2), the plan is to integrate with Novell using Novell's "Domain Services for Windows". Using this approach, XenApp interacts with Novell eDirectory as if it were an Active Directory domain.
