If you want to use your own IRC client, log onto the efnet network to #novell.
You will find a great group of knowledgeable people there from around the world. There are regular users from US, CA, UK, NZ, etc. Feel free to visit anytime, idle, ask questions, help out, all are welcome.
While the channel is Novell product centric, but just like you, everyone there supports just about "anything that has a button", so they can help.
