Rove Releases Mobile Admin 4.2, Adds IT Infrastructure Monitoring

General NewsRove Inc., developer of network administration software that provides IT administrators mobile management of their IT systems and infrastructure, including Novell, today launched the latest version of its flagship product. Mobile Admin 4.2 introduces new functionality that enhances the software’s existing mobile administration capabilities.

For the first time in the product’s history, Mobile Admin now includes IT infrastructure monitoring through the support of Microsoft Systems Center Operations Manager 2007. In addition, the new version introduces support for Microsoft Systems Center Mobile Device Manager 2008, VMware Virtual Infrastructure and BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5. Audit logging, credential management, enhanced data routing and usability improvements are also included in this version.

Specific Novell administration features include searching for, viewing, editing, creating or deleting users, groups and organizational units, resetting passwords and changing password setting, and editing logon scripts.

“For over eight years, we’ve been redefining IT administration. Tasks that used to require access to a computer, or a laptop with an internet connection, can now be done in minutes from a mobile device,” said Rob Woodbridge, President and CEO of Rove. “And now, with integrated support for Systems Center Operations Manager, VMware and RIM’s upcoming BES 5, Mobile Admin touches all aspects of system administration.”

Mike Keller of TriZetto, a California-based company providing software and IT services, deployed Mobile Admin 4.2 within his IT environment. “The addition of VMware Virtual Infrastructure support makes Mobile Admin 4.2 a must have,” he said when asked to describe his experiences using the software. “When I’m on call, it takes me 2 minutes to perform a task with Mobile Admin that would have taken 20 minutes on a laptop. It’s an all-around time saver.”

The launch of Mobile Admin 4.2 continues a successful year that has seen Rove experience its two most profitable financial quarters back-to-back. Over the coming months, Rove will continue to build on the innovations introduced in this version of the software. The company is dedicated to providing a powerful and intuitive mobile administration solution to IT departments across organizations in the private, public and non-profit sectors.
