THE BIG EVENT – WEST MICHIGAN’S LARGEST INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SHOW
The West Michigan Novell User's Group (WMNUG), in partnership with Novell, is holding the 3rd Annual technology show 'THE BIG EVENT' on January 31 and February 1, 2007at Calvin college. In a fortunate change of schedules, we have been able to obtain Nancy Faigen, Vice President and General Manager, Linux - Novell Americas, as our keynote speaker for this two day technology event. Ms. Faigen will be speaking about the state of Novell, Novell’s plans for Open Source and the SUSE platform, and Linux in general. The keynote session begins at 9:00 a.m. on January 31, 2007. The sponsor’s area and technical presentations will begin shortly after Ms. Faigen’s keynote.
'THE BIG EVENT' is the largest user group sponsored Information Technology show in West Michigan. It will last two days, running from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Everyone involved with Information Technology is invited. More than 25 vendors from the IT industry will be presenting their products at tables and booths in Calvin College’s Prince Conference Center. There will be fun giveaways and an attendee-participation signature “Scavenger Hunt” both days. Special hour-long training, case studies, and other technical informational seminars will be held, each presented by the Novell engineers, our sponsors and/or Novell partners attending 'THE BIG EVENT'.
A new IT Infrastructure Library (a.k.a. ITIL) focus has been added this year, thanks in large part to the assistance of the local HDI chapter. With the increase in size and length of the event, WMNUG needed additional volunteer staff and HDI stepped up to assist with 'THE BIG EVENT'. Information on both organizations will be available at the event.

Membership in WMNUG is NOT required to attend 'THE BIG EVENT' but a free one-year membership is included in the registration fee. Corporate memberships are also available and all membership information will be available during the show. WMNUG meets at 6 p.m. on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, at the New Horizons Training Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
