    Poll
How do you think the Attachmate deal will turn out for "Novell"
Well, the marketing can't be any WORSE
Better, the product/support commitment is there
Worse, MS will end up with what is left of Novell’s marketshare & still end up with the patents, leaving the customer as the loser

AdministrationNewsforge is running a series of articles called The Commandments of Systems Administration. The first three parts are available now, with hopefully more to come soon. Read on to find out more.

The First Commandment is obvious: Thou shalt make regular and complete backups
The Second Commandment is slightly more debatable: Thou shalt establish absolute trust in thy servers
The Third Commandment is a necessity for everyone: Thou shalt be the first to know when something goes down

This last installment is great, discussing the importance of products like Nagios which should be running on every network out there...
This is a well put together series, check it out and keep an eye open for the next installments!
